Wendy Hansford

I was in my 50s in a corporate job, going through the motions as was expected. Then, a travel experience shook my foundations. It woke me, showed me that life needed changing.

My regular yoga practice helped me to focus. On the mat I found peace and a new direction. A friend gave me a nudge; ‘You’d be a good yoga teacher, Wendy.’ The seed was planted.

I closed the door on a 20 year banking career; quit and walked out the door the same day. Off to Edinburgh for Yoga Teacher Training with Dhughal Meacham Yoga. Not a single regret.

Castlemaine has been home for decades. And now I guide local people to find peace and purpose on their own mat.

Amy McDonald

Amy started her yoga journey as a kid and has been teaching since 2009. She’s studied with some of the world’s best teachers. These days she offers retreats and Hatha classes with an emphasis on alignment and anatomy, plus mythology and Yogic philosophy.

Yoga for Men in Castlemaine is a strong, practical class for blokes who want to work hard, have fun and make time for rest. No fancy gear, no woo-woo, just great yoga.

From time to time you can join Amy at a pop-up Masterclass to deepen your own yoga practice.

Helen Ashwell

Helen's first memory of yoga is of her mum teaching her uncle how to do a headstand on the beach one summer. Of course she joined in and the seed was sown. Helen started to practice yoga consistently and attend regular classes in her mid 20s.

Helen practised yoga throughout her pregnancies, and after 15 years of her own home practice, finally trained as a yoga teacher of postures, breathwork and meditation.

Helen's intuition, pragmatic spirituality and quiet presence, inform her work and practice, both as a doula and as a yoga teacher.

Helen’s vinyasa flow is a dynamic class designed for levels progressive, beginner to intermediate. The class consists of flowing postures, with a small amount of breathwork and relaxation to finish.

Nat Dowling

Nat is a trained sound healing practitioner offering individual sound healing sessions and group sound bath meditations.

Sound and vibration are at the core of the yogic and other ancient traditions. Modern science is starting to articulate how singing bowls, drums and gongs work to nourish and regulate our nervous systems.

Sound meditation, including mantra, is a relaxing antidote to stress. It can improve mental health, relieve tension and clear out old patterns.
